Established in 2016 The Farmhouse offers a luxury escape in the stunning surroundings of a beautifully maintained 100 acre country estate at the heart of the wonderful North York Moors National Park.
Our rooms and cottages lie at the heart of what we do at The Farmhouse, a special place with a warm welcome, good food, and with a love of the land at it’s heart.
The Farmhouse was built in 1880 on the site of an historic dwelling. We have spent the last 30 years renovating and extending it to create a beautiful country home set within lovely gardens, which offers luxurious accommodation, unrivalled views of – and access to – the surrounding valleys and open moors, and peace and escape from busy everyday life.
The farm, which covers the land between Goathland village and the hamlet of Beckhole is enclosed by ancient oak woodland and pastures of special scientific interest, and set within the amphitheater of the glorious North York Moors National Park.
Conservation has been at the heart of our time at Orchard Farm. The land has been restored to the 1850 field pattern, woods and hedges have been planted, ponds created and paths constructed. The farm has been home to the Murkesk herd of pedigree Aberdeen Angus cattle and rare sheep, but with farming enterprises now scaled back, it has allowed us to open our doors to guests to share this beautiful piece of England with us.
